The Tomatoets🍅

Day 1:

I got cherry tomatoes from my garden. I don’t understand why there called cherry tomatoes when I see no resemblance to them to cherries at all. They always look like they’re about to explode. It looks like regular tomatoes children that are extremely judgey and weird. It was interesting watching them seeing how some gave an ombre effect of red t orange. All my tomatoes were unique because non were perfectly round. They give off mean vibes bc they were all together like in a lique and so I ate one. I was hungry but I also wanted revenge for them staring at me for so long.

Mine were very squishy and it was gross. I feel like all there personalities were different based on the way they looked as well as how each one of them tasted. At the end of the day I only ate 4/8 of them. But the red color they give off gives me that they are always mad or angry. Idk why they have to be red all the time but I guess that’s just them.

Day 3:

Today was my very last day observing these rude tomatoes. I ended up being done watching them. I cooked up some nice lemon garlic pasta and needed something to top it off and remembered I had these tomatoes. So i cut them in half and roasted them. It was ad seeing them shrivel up and being a little burnt but at the end of the day they can’t stare at me anymore. I was sad that the journey was over but they at least tased good in my meal. These tomatoes helped me to express how to journal more deeply and express feelings via writing.

Through the journey though I felt that the tomatoes were all in a clique but to get revenge I ended up eating them. Just the color made me feel like they were a villain. It didn’t really help that I love cherry tomatoes but I did feel bad in the end for eating them and not letting them keep living their cherry tomato life. Thank you so much tomatoes for letting me be mean to you and for being a great topping on my dish.

  1. Describing the tomatoes as an adjective that a human would have brings out an inviting tone to your writing. By saying the tomatoes are judgy or rude gives a humorous element to your writing which enhances the whole blog.

  2. I thought that your blog post was well executed, the fact that I love cherry tomatoes helped me alot through the experience. I made my fig a life and said that he came to life. The creativity with the cliques and being evil is genius.

  3. I love the mixed motives here: ” I was hungry but I also wanted revenge for them staring at me for so long.” You do a great job getting your personality through description mixed with some narration and self-reflection. Here’s my favorite line combining the three: “It was sad seeing them shrivel up and being a little burnt but at the end of the day they can’t stare at me anymore.”
