Day 1:
The smell of this aloe vera has a clean and organic smell, if that makes sense. It’s commonly used in different products like hand soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. It’s not just used in cleaning products but also in medicine because it’s highly beneficial for your health. This is edible and has a slimy gelatinous like consistency inside which is what you eat. It tastes very bitter and medicinal so I can understand why this isn’t a common plant that people eat, even though it has high health benefits.
I can’t see what people could possibly use this plant for anything else. Although, people can be very creative when it comes to inanimate objects. I guess I got a good use out of it for this english assignment so that’s one thing outside of the common reasons for this plant to be used. I most likely won’t be buying this plant again in my lifetime unless I need it for another english assignment.
Day 2:
Keeping this aloe vera over the days has been difficult to say the least. Not only does it have an unwieldy shape but it doesn’t stay fresh for that long. It’s like the plant tried to annoy me as it would always poke me with it’s little spikes. It started to change color as it rotted in my bag. From a nice leafy green to a disgusting brown, the taste changed from a bitter taste to a funky and weird taste. Keeping it in my bag rather than refrigerating it probably didn’t help. Due to the plant rotting in my bag, this forced me to wash my bag twice.
This has ruined my experience with this plant. I can’t get over the disgusting thought of a once firm, fresh smelling plant turned to a soft, brown, mushy mess. I had a feeling this would happen because even on the first day it started to become ripe. I don’t even want to think about this plant, let alone write about it.
