Lychee story

Entry 1:

Today I named my Lychee Gerald.  While looking at Gerald I felt as if he needed a haircut so I trimmed a few millimeters off of his little legs and gave him a little bald spot over his yellow splotches. I realized that I will feel sad when it comes time to eat him but I know that it is going to be okay because he will taste very delicious. I also went on a walk with Gerald today in my garden. I showed him the dirt and all the other plants and fruits. I realized that his yellows were fading and that his reds were getting darker. I hope that Gerald is okay to eat when I open him up, he does not smell bad so i know that he is up on his hygiene.

Entry 2:

I ate Gerald today, he did not smell bad when i opened him up so I went to town on him and his siblings. His insides were pearly white and soft. His hard outer shell concealed a soft squishy inside that was begging to be eaten.  In hindsight i wish i cut Gerald and his siblings up and spiced up a drink with him; however, in the moment popping him and his siblings in my mouth sufficed. He was sweet and juicy, like an Asian pear except very squishy and without tart; after I ate him I planted him in my garden. I think he might not grow kids because of the hot virginia climate however, I will try to make sure he lives on through his kids.
