The Avocado

9-1

The avocado is very tough, bumpy and waxy. It is mainly brown and green but if you look closely, it has red and yellow spots. It looks similar to art, maybe a painting? It’s shiny and looks exactly how you expect it to look when you hear avocado. If you look close enough the pattern on the skin looks like fireworks.

The avocado has changed color to a darker brown with green patches. If I were to personify it, it would probably be a older lady. She smells earthy and while over all she is tough, she is a bit squishy in the middle. Any older injuries she sustained in my car have dried now. She is a bit heavy set. I don’t know for sure, but she is probably bruised on the inside.

  1. This was very creative. I liked how you were very descriptive when talking about your avocado. I wouldn’t have thought of comparing an avocado to an older lady, that was very unique!

  2. Here are my two favorite lines: “It is mainly brown and green but if you look closely, it has red and yellow spots. It looks similar to art, maybe a painting? . . . If you look close enough the pattern on the skin looks like fireworks.” These similes work for me. Maybe the avocado is into pointillism. I like standing far from a painting and then moving very close to it to see the brushstrokes. Same with my photos of fireworks: I used to crop and enlarge them and put them on my blog. Such cool effects. So art and fireworks go together for me.
