This article helped me explore my thesis because it explained one reason of how technology can optimize strategy and play calling on the sideline during NFL games. The article went into extensive detail about the replay system the tablets provide and how this system supplies teams with necessary features when reviewing plays. This includes enhanced zoom features that allows coaches to see close-ups of the actions the players did during the play. Altogether, the information I learned while reading this article will help me further my thesis and support my research because the article discusses the benefits of NFL teams having access to technology during games while on the sideline.
Hallo Kody. I really like your idea. I see how this technology greatly increases the ability for a coach to optimize their plays. Is there any direct audio communication between the QB and the Coach? I assume there is, so does that allow for smoother play as well? Overall very informative and awesome topic. Nice approach! 🤓
Kody, I found your topic to be very interesting. It is evident that technology has an effect on sports, and I see that you have made your main point of research, at least for this post, about the tablet that coaches use. I wonder if that is the only way, however, that technology is changing the sports scene and specifically the NFL. I wonder if other ways, such as coach-to-quarterback communication, high-quality cameras, TV broadcasting, and even official play review, have also had a large impact on the NFL’s success. I remember playing flag football at a young age, and always getting angry that there were no cameras to catch a foul or illegal play that the opposition had inflicted on me. How would technology like cameras and official reviews have affected that situation? I believe that this shows the dynamic nature of your research topic. Great job on this blog post.
Wow Kody, I think this topic is very interesting as in it talks about the beneficial impact technology has had for football. It’s not a topic that is talked about often so many others may find it quite compelling. I wonder if one day fans will be able to access such technology because most of the time when fans want to rewatch a play, they are only given a one time replay by the channel itself. It would be helpful whenever I want to rewatch a play from different angles at my own speed one day. Overall, I think the topic is something that isn’t brought up often when talking about football which makes it really interesting!
The evolution of technology on NFL sidelines is certainly a huge part of how coaches strategize today, and your article and reaction effectively capture this trend. The article induces curiosity as to how helpful artificial intelligence could be in providing coaches with advice and what to do in specific scenarios or matchups. It is going to be really interesting to see how much of a role technology plays on coaching as better software and efficient replay programs continue to be developed. I can’t wait to see where your research takes you!
Being a big football fan, I find this topic very interesting. The NFL has gone through many technological advancements over its lifespan, all with a profound effect, indicated in your article. I like how you focused on the Microsoft tablet, as it is a recognizable piece of technology, and even finds itself in the news from time to time. I am intrigued how you tie the Microsoft tablet to the NFL as a whole, and I look forward to reading your final essay. Overall, great job!
