This article really made some key points in some of the differences between the way men and women are portrayed in athletics throughout the media. The article highlights the fact that women are often seen as, well, women in the media before they are viewed as athletes. In commercials, for example, male athletes are always portrayed as powerful, unstoppable, and basically human machines. However, women are often viewed first for their age, looks, body shape/size, family life, etc.

This article listed many valuable points towards some of the major differences the media shows towards male vs. female athletes, and will really help me to highlight key points in my research paper.
