Block Post #2

The video I inserted helps me explore my topic more as it talks about the recent Russian-Ukranian war. It talks about how extremely propaganda has increased since the beginning of the conflict in February 2022. First of all it talks about how Russian media does not mention the word “war”, the media only uses words like “conflict” or “special operation”. The media also sensors or blocks the word “war”. If you look up any information about the war you will not be able to find any negatives that are happening in Ukraine right now. Russian citizens are also brainwashed to believe that they are currently doing much better than they are actually are, the Russian media made their citizens believe that Russia is currently winning. Russia has also banned social media like “Facebook” and “Instagram”, because it is “extremists”. Twitter is fully regulated by the Russian authorities and anything alarming that a person might post on it will most likely get them landed in jail, anything that is said will alarm the Russian authorities. Because of this certain video I could alter my thesis to exact methods that Russia uses to blind its citizens from seeing the truth about their government.

Blog post of questions

How has the propaganda in Russia influenced Russian citizens? How has propaganda increased in the last ten years in Russia? Why does the government use propaganda in Russia? How does the government benefit from using propaganda on its citizens? What do the Russian citizens believe is happening in Ukraine? Is there any sites available that do not include propaganda?
