Student Blogging Challenge #4

Happy November! I hope everyone is stuffing themselves with Halloween candy and counting the days till Thanksgiving and Christmas! This week for the SBC is free choice which I’m really happy about since I can really write about anything I want to! If you read my All About Me post, you probably saw that I really like to travel and go to new places. This week I am going to give not a Top 5, but a Top 6 list of some travel destinations that I hope to visit someday. I guess 6 is more intriguing than 5, right? Comment down below your favorite place that you have traveled to and if you have been to any of the places that are on my list. (BTW I’m super jealous if you’ve been to any of the destinations on my list.)

1. Bora Bora

I want to travel to Bora Bora because of the beautiful terrain and crystal blue water. My best friend, Mariam, and I always talk about how we want to go after we graduate high school together. Bora Bora looks like a great place to have  a fun and relaxing summer vacation where you can lay in the sun and swim all day!

2. Scotland

I am almost fully Scottish (along with Irish), so I really want to visit the place where my ancestors were originally from! Not to mention, the wonderful and iconic movie Braveheart was filmed in Scotland and I want to trace Mel Gibson’s footsteps;).

3. Greece

I have watched so many travel diaries/vlogs about people going to Santorini, Greece and not going to lie, I’m jealous of them. I know that I’m only in the eighth grade, but I NEED to go to Greece soon because it looks absolutely gorgeous. I also love gyros and pita bread so Greece is the place to be.

4. Australia

Australia is a beautiful place with its unique cities and gorgeous water. My favorite show when I was younger was Mako Mermaids and it was filmed off the Gold Coast of Australia. “Cleor” gets me everytime.  My favorite actor right now is Dacre Montgomery (he plays Billy Hargrove in Stranger Things) and he was born in Perth, Australia!

5.California

I really want to visit California because of the variety of things you can do there. Northern California is totally different from Southern California. I want to visit San Francisco and Los Angeles in particular. In San Francisco, I could see the “Full House” house and Alcatraz. Then in LA I could seek to find my favorite celebrities and actors ;).

6. Hawaii

We all have to admit that there has been at least one time in our lives that we have wanted to travel to Hawaii. Well, at least I have! It’s fascinating to me that there are so many islands that make up Hawaii. Hawaii has been on my travel bucket list for as long as I can remember, and I think it always will be. If you take me to Hawaii, I will love you forever:).

Thank y’all for reading yet another blog post of mine! Not just saying this, it means the world to me. Hope everyone has a good rest of their week! Remember to keep it cool and comment down below.

Sweater Weather

The exquisite mix of warm and cold weather of late October is perfect for wearing a comfy sweater and jeans.

My warm fall drink keeps me snug with the chilly autumn weather.

As I walk down my street, I see a common theme of creepy decorations and carved pumpkins outside every house.

The brisk wind blows through my hair, as I’m walking through the alluring fields of crimson, gold, and coral.

My shoes softly step on the gorgeous fallen leaves.

I look up and see an infinite sight of trees dancing in the wind.

Hello bloggers! My post this week was another Student Blogging Challenge task. This week I had to find a picture from a plagiarism and copyright free site to put into my blog. After I found a picture that I was interested in, I wrote a poem about it. I really liked this week’s challenge because I enjoyed writing a poem about my favorite season, FALL! In school we rarely write poems, so it was fun to experiment and write a free-verse poem.

If you have any questions, suggestions, or anything you would like to share, make sure to write a comment down below! Speaking of comments (shameless promo coming), look at my last post and the graphic that I made on how to write a quality comment. I would also appreciate it if you answered and filled out this Google Form to answer some simple questions. This way I can get to know all of you better! Thank you all for looking at my weekly blog post!

Student Blogging Challenge #2

What’s up peeps! It’s now the second week of the Student Blogging Challenge! For this week, the task was commenting on at least 3 blogs on the Edublogs website and making a presentation, video, or graphic that conveys how to write a quality comment on a blog. Surprisingly, it takes a lot of thought and time into writing a comment that counts! I used the website Venngage/ Infographic to make my presentation of how to leave a great comment.

Also, I want to give out a couple shout-outs to some blogs that I really like. My best friend, Mariam, has a beautiful and interesting blog. She’s extremely funny and loves a lot of the things that I do! Click here to check out her blog. This week I stumbled across a blog on the Edublogs website and found Julianna’s blog. Julianna has well-written posts and great ideas. Click here to see her blog!

Comment down below what your favorite season is, mine’s fall! Stay tuned for more SBC posts!

Student Blogging Challenge #1

Hello again, it’s AC! As you may know, the Student Blogging Challenge started this week and my class is participating in it! This week’s blogging challenge was making an avatar using different websites provided on Edublogs. The website’s avatars had different styles, so everyone had a different spin on each of their mini-me’s! Some avatars were cartoons, and some looked more realistic. Along with making an avatar we also had to explain why we wanted to make it look a certain way and how it represents you.

Click on the Google Slides above to see my communications class’ avatars. Along with looking at our avatars, you could even make an avatar yourself! In the Google Slides presentation, we linked all the websites we used to make our avatars.

Since the Student Blogging Challenge is all about visiting people’s blogs from all around the world, I figured that I could link my classmates’ blogs! Read the sentences of my classmates’ interests below, then click on the link. If you have the same interests as them, make sure to comment on their posts and share your URL with them!

As always, comment down below and share your URL! Thanks for reading and visiting my blog!

A-Z About My Name

Hey everyone! For those who don’t know me, my name is Anna Claire. I started blogging just a few weeks ago for my communications class. So far my class and I have done a how-to video, published our All About Me posts, and are planning a Breast Cancer Awareness campaign for our school.  I thought communications would be so enjoyable and fun for me because I think that writing is my gift.

Since this post is like a part 2 of my All About Me post, I am going to talk about my name and the history behind it. If you do get to know me well, just remember that I don’t go by Anna, it’s Anna Claire!! Sit back and relax for a little history lesson behind my name.

My fraternal grandma, who I call Ma-Ma, is named Patricia Ann. Hence, her middle name is how Anna became my first name. Even though I go by Anna Claire, the name on my birth certificate says Anna Clarice. I know, a little confusing! My dad likes to joke that the Clarice in my name came from the main character, Clarice Starling, in the Oscar Winning movie, The Silence of the Lambs. The name Clarice came from my great-great-grandma’s first name. Some people might not like being named after someone in their family because the name has already been used before, but I think it’s quite special to have one of your relative’s names seamed into yours.

Also, I looked up my name on Google and found that Anna means “grace” and dates back to Biblical times. I also found that Anna is an uber popular name. Records say that 861, 364 girls have been named Anna in the U.S. since 1880. Clarice and Claire both have similar meanings. I found that their meanings vary depending on the country/ culture, but the names usually mean “bright”, “clear”, and “famous”. I hope that most people would agree that my name’s meaning works well with my personality.

I hope that everyone reading this eXcerpt of my blog enjoyed it and was interested! You will definitely want to come back to see more zany and cool posts from my class’ blogging challenge! As always, make sure to drop a comment with your URL and share!
