Shiny red dragon
Breathing violently
On command.
You are a savior
Of frizz
Of bedhead
Yet
I do not worship you
But carelessly discard you, cord unraveled
You are, after all, just an appliance.
And I don’t need you.
You are not the only one
Who can tame the locks.
Hair tie works
Just
Fine.
Until I have an important event
Or need to impress
Then
I gently lift you from the counter
Press the switch
And bring you roaring to life.
