Beach Sunset

By: Priyanka Patel

As I walk to the beach

I hear the roar of the waves

The waves crash onto the beach like the sound of thunder

I see kids running into the waves

as they splash one another with the trembling cold water

The crabs slowly find their way back into the ocean

I  catch a glance of the surfers in the distance effortlessly gliding through the waves

As the crowds of people start to leave, I catch a glance of the bright orange and pink skies

The sky looks like a painting in  museum

I put my feet in the soft yellow sand

The breezy wind picks up my hair

as I start to see the darkness of the sky come toward me

I look at the eternity of the ocean and realize that the ocean never rests

The First Game

By: Sierra Pratzner

One afternoon

on a hot summer day

I took a long deep breath

went on the green grass field

grasped my stick tightly

and waited until I heard

the voice of the whistle

to start the game

moments later

whistle screamed TWEET

the game started

I looked in the eyes of my opponents

and thought

victory was soon to be found
