Sketchbook spread 1.2

For my second sketchbook spread, I did some general brainstorming on the left. I used a reference photo of a field and then wrote some ideas for my sustained inquiry over top of it, including medias I would like to use and other family photos. On the right, I did some thumbnail sketches and a media study with watercolor and ink. I decided on the angled barn instead of the front angle since the angled one is more visually interesting. I also did some studies with wood textures on the side.

  1. Wow these pages are so beautiful! I love the way you incorporated the wheat field background in the first page. I really think the direction you are going in for this piece is really strong. I think your loser style on the farm is really interesting and dynamic. Overall your composition is really nice and I think you choice to do watercolor is really smart. I almost think you should implement that wavy border in your final piece by leaving white around the border and making it seem as though the farm scene was being painted on in that style (idk if that makes sense). Great job!
