Sketchbook Pages

Sketchbook 2.1

This is the first sketchbook page for my second project. The inspiration of this project came from my first Inktober page, which I’ve also posted below as a reference. If you know me, you know that Alice in Wonderland is one of my all time favorite movies. For this project I want to expand on the idea of “Alice falling down the rabbit hole” that I created for Inktober on a bigger scale.

As of right now I’m silently debating whether I want this project to be in Pen and Ink or if I want to recreate on my iPad by using Procreate. I think I’m leaning towards using Procreate because then I’ll have the ability to layer and really keep my line work clean throughout the piece.

  1. I really love the concept for this piece. It looks really interesting and the way that you showcase Alice is cool. Although pen and ink looks good, I think that using Procreate would be a good choice. I searched up how Procreate looks like, and judging by other people’s artworks, I think that using the iPad would make the piece look very cartoon/book-like and I think that matches with the piece. Overall, the linework is very detailed and the practice sketches have great value to them! One question I have is; are you going to add color?

    1. Hey, Shreya!Thank you for your compliments on my sketchbook assignment. To answer your question, right now I’m debating using color under the ring to fill in the spaces of the pen and ink forms behind Alice. I’m contemplating using some bright colors/ pastels to represent the wonkiness that is Wonderland. While coloring Alice in black and white, since she originally came from the the mundane world.
