Officer Eugene Goodman Named Deputy Sergeant-At-Arms

Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman was made acting Deputy Senate sergeant-at-arms following the Capitol riot two weeks ago. Goodman was praised as a hero for his actions during the riot where he led a mob of Trump supporters away from the Senate Chamber while Senators were still debating. He was made sergeant-at-arms with bipartisan support. Goodman escorted Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff to the inauguration of President Joe Biden yesterday.

Members of Congress introduced a bill to honor Goodman with a Congressional Medal of Honor for his heroic actions on January 6.
