Sahaja Yoga

Being a teenager can be difficult, especially in these trying times. We stress over school, high expectations and fitting in. We are told to “accept the way things are”, but does this ‘solution’ give you any peace at all?

“‘Saha’ means spontaneous

‘Ja’ means born within you.

‘Yoga’ means union with the Spirit.”

In Sahaja Yoga one can experience real peace from within; no matter what is happening outside. This peace comes from the Spirit. Everyone has the Spirit inside them. It is our true identity which gives us joy. We are taught to believe that our identity is nothing more than our name, race, likes and dislikes. But, that is only skin-deep. It is all superficial. However, it is our Spirit which is our real identity. Many saints in the past looked for ways to find their Spirit and even people in our day-to-day life were seeking the truth but they were unable to find it.

Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, the founder of Sahaja Yoga, found an easy and simple method called Self Realization which awakens the Kundalini. Everybody has Mother Kundalini in them. It is an inner energy within, that is in a dormant state. But once you get your Self Realization, the Kundalini awakens and rises to the top of your head, and as it rises it enlightens your Spirit.

When one gets their Self Realization, they experience the joy and peace of the Spirit, and they can even feel a cool breeze on both hands and the top of their head. They feel peaceful and their thoughts are reduced. All the thoughts that fill one’s mind with self-doubt, guilt, anger and even stress, slowly cease and we enter a state of thoughtless awareness.

“The greatest thing that you can give is to give them Self-realisation – means the joy of your Spirit. Expose them to the joy of their Spirit which is the most precious thing.”

          ~Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi

When one gets their Self Realization, they become Realised or one could say, enlightened. They can give Self Realization to another person. Just like how a candle, which is lit, can light another candle, and that candle can light another. That is the greatest thing you could ever do for yourself and for others.
