Since 2017, at least 1 million Uyghur Muslims have been in more than 85 concentration camps in Xinjiang, China. At first, the government denied that the camps existed, but after evidence revealed the truth, they admitted that these are ¨re-education¨ camps. In these camps, innocent Muslim men, women, and children, are beaten, starved, and forced to eat and drink forbidden foods within the religion. Furthermore, families are completely separated from each other and don´t know when they can come together again. China claims this is the best way to get rid of terrorism and root out Islamic extremism. Countries around the world are urging China to end the mass detention programs by communicating through the United Nations. However, China refuses to end the camps claiming that they have been super effective in ending terrorism within the country.
