This was supposed to be posted before Thanksgiving break but unfortunately it did not. Back in August my sister and parents all went to Italy together. They explored the area and checked out my sister’s apartment in Florence since she’s going to be staying in there for a year for the Florida State University study abroad program. Because the time they planned to leave, I didn’t go since school had already started. They ended up going to all the beautiful places in Italy like Rome. The pictures posted are taken from their trip. After they got home they promised to take me to Italy for two trips.

The first trip we are going to take is going to be during Thanksgiving break. Since my dad works at the airport this allows us to go on as many trips as we want without having to pay for the flights. So, our plan is to fly standby (which is basically looking at the flight load and getting the seats that nobody books) to Rome and then take a train to Florence.

Our plans are to go to three places. We will stay at an airbnb during our whole trip in Florence and then take a couple trains to visit Milan and Venice. We will be able to visit places like the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and the Florence Cathedral. Acting as our tour guide, my sister will take a couple days of off school and travel with us taking us to local restaurants and non tourist locations.

For the second trip, it is a bit more vague in planning since it is a lot farther away. It will either be in the summer or spring break. Since my mom is very close to one of my aunt’s and I am incredibly close to my cousin we are going to surprise them and bring them along with us to visit Italy again. For this trip, since they are coming along we are going to be visiting the more tourist-y sites of Rome. This means we will be visiting the famous attractions such as the Trevi Fountain, St. Peter’s Basilica, and the Colosseum.

  1. That picture is a lot to take in! It’s so detailed and over the top that it’s kind of hard to look at. And look! There’s some Latin! Italy seems so cool!
