Firenze, Venezia, Verona

I came back from Italy on Saturday and I wish I was still there. Although the flying was rather unpleasant. Even though I’ve suffered through far worse with the trip to the Philippines being a straight two days of traveling with over 4 flights and 5+ hours of layovers each time. A couple days prior to our departure my dad found out that they United stopped having a direct flight from Dulles to Rome. So, we then took a different route. We ended up taking a 8 hours flight from here to Munich, Germany, wait for 4 hours then going on a flight from Munich to Florence, Italy.

After arriving I was instantly amazed at the architecture and the streets. For the whole trip we only went into two cars. The rest of the time we walked from place to place in the roads itself (since there are no cars there are only a few taxis and ambulances). Though, I am clumsy and since the roads and sidewalks are very…old the amount of times I have tripped over everything is enough to get the locals laughing at my face.

We ended up spending the majority of the time in Florence being with my sister and visiting the sites there like the Palazzo Vecchio. There were two days that we saved for Venice and Verona. We ended up going to Verona since it was a lot closer than Milan and because I’ve always wanted to go to the place where Rome and Juliet’s setting was.

Venice was my favorite place out of all. Because we went in the winter, there wasn’t a smell of fish and there were absolutely no cars anywhere and instead they were replaced by hundreds of boats. The thing that got me and my sister laughing was the fact that there were water taxis/ ambulances. We then took a gondola around the canals which was so beautiful since the buildings and the water were both super bright. Afterwards, the guy who took us around recommended a more local place for us to go eat at and it was absolutely the best food I’ve ever eaten!

In Verona, we ended up going to Juliet’s balcony and the Verona Arena. The Juliet’s balcony was very special since it was filled by lockets of people who visited prior. The Verona Arena was really beautiful and even though it was raining Verona still managed to be beautiful.

I honestly can’t wait for my next trip to Italy
