Dear Diary, Today is March 24, 2021 and we just landed in Britain and we are going to go and taste different food from the british culture. We had our tour guide, Harry, is going to show us the popular foods in britain. We went to the mainland to find some mates to go eat with. We stopped by a place making fresh bread and we were offered it with marmite or jam. The shopkeeper asked, “would you like fresh fruit jam on your bread?” “No,” he said, “I like Marmite.” The shopkeeper added marmite instead of fruit jam.

  1. Fatima,
We like how you used the phrase in your piece. It was interesting that you pretended the narrator was on a tour in Britain. You started this with ‘Dear Diary’. Maybe we will try that some time in the future. Your piece is making us want to be out in the street having fresh baked bread from a shop.
    Keep writing.
