sketchbook spread 2.1

this concentration piece is based of rage and anger. when thinking of strong emotions that i feel i thought anger was one of the strongest. in my final piece i want to be able to evoke as much passion and energy into the piece with the chaotic use of line work and color. i am still contemplating whether i should use more colors that also represent anger or if red is the only color i should use. i really want to be able to show different emotions in my line work and hope to use softer techniques to convey softer and gentle emotions

  1. I think the colors around red is good and incorporate dark colors as well to get a sense of depth. Your expressions turned out really strong! I feel like that face on the right is yelling at me haha! This kinda reminds me of Inside out, like all the core emotions, but humanfied if that makes sense.

  2. This spread is so cool! I really love the dynamic of the face. I honestly think you could just develop the value of the face in black in white and still have that accent of red. This really does convey the strong emotion you were going for. Great job!

    1. This is kelsie btw

  3. I love how dramatic your spread is and how you weren’t afraid to draw big. Your choice of color really helps reflect the anger and frustration in this work. The color is a little cliche but i understand it is hard to find a color that can portray a feeling of anger.

  4. I love the drama of your spread. I can really feel the anger you were trying to depict. I see a lot of words and just a couple drawings, it would be nice if you experimented with the composition of your subject by maybe changing the posture.
