This Week in Rap

This Week in Rap

The week of May 14-21 was a great week for the music industry. All three of my favorite rappers at the moment dropped unexpected albums, and each every single one was amazing. NAV put out an amazing showing with his new album for 2018 called Reckless. The album featured other popping rappers in the industry, and focused on a melodic feels type of rap. I believe this album was a great one and NAV put his best effort into this short album. YNW Melly dropped two simple songs, similar to his normal style, and once again they were both amazing. If he continues on this route there is no way he won’t end up on the top soon. Lil Baby also brought the heat on his new album called Harder than Ever. His constant hyped up vibe, mixed with the slight mumbling of certain verses creates a perfect spacial type theme to the album. This week in music was absolutely great and many fans of rap could not ask for a better outcome.

2. Culture – Migos

Although this album dropped at the very beginning of 2017, it is not to be forgotten . Migos are arguably the biggest rap group in the world right now, and never fall short of dropping amazing tracks with amazing producers. The trio do a great job of creating good hooks that keep their fans listening throughout the year.

1. Perfect Timing – NAV

NAV’s second album most definitely surpassed his first, although it was also good. This album was very good in every aspect. He had multiple songs with different styles which is something he would usually no do, however he executed it perfectly. Every single song on this album was great, and I wonder how he will be able to top this.
