This Week in Rap

This Week in Rap

The week of May 14-21 was a great week for the music industry. All three of my favorite rappers at the moment dropped unexpected albums, and each every single one was amazing. NAV put out an amazing showing with his new album for 2018 called Reckless. The album featured other popping rappers in the industry, and focused on a melodic feels type of rap. I believe this album was a great one and NAV put his best effort into this short album. YNW Melly dropped two simple songs, similar to his normal style, and once again they were both amazing. If he continues on this route there is no way he won’t end up on the top soon. Lil Baby also brought the heat on his new album called Harder than Ever. His constant hyped up vibe, mixed with the slight mumbling of certain verses creates a perfect spacial type theme to the album. This week in music was absolutely great and many fans of rap could not ask for a better outcome.

Song of the Week #4

Song of the Week #4

Once again I am back with this series as I think it is the most benefice for my audience and my favorite thing to blog about.

This weeks Song is……

Things I Bought – Unotheactivist ft Famous Dex

Although this song is somewhat old, I believe it is a perfect song as summer break is right around the corner. Uno and Dex created the perfect combo on this song as the upbeat vibe can not be beat. The chorus brings short and catch rhymes while the verses bring a vibe upbeat type of feel to the song. This is the perfect song to listen to heading into summer, as it provides straight up happy vibes.

My Top 3 Favorite Rappers of All Time

My Top 3 Favorite Rappers of All Time

Hello Blog, this week I am bringing you guys something from my perspective as I will be speaking about my top three favorite rapper since I began listening to rap. Although my list is a bit contriversial, these are my personal references and maybe this will inspire you to check these rappers out.

#3 – Fredo Santana

Fredo Santana is from the heart of Chicago and is known for his drill type music. He came out as a fairly young rapper at the age of 20, and tried his best to become mainstream. However, his different style did not allow for this. Fredo is the first rapper I ever listened to and his vibe has been stuck with me ever since. Sadly, he passed away at the young age of 27 due to liver failure, however he will not be forgotten.

#2 – Speaker Knockerz

The Speaker Knockerz was also one of the first rappers I ever listened too. He was no doubt on track to be one of the greatest of our generation in my opinion. He’s beats were off the charts as well as catchy lines that made me so hyped is why I loved him. Sadly, this great also passed away for an unknown reason in 2014.

#1 – NAV

Nav is no doubt my favorite rapper of all time. His unbelievable lyrics make it hard for you to not want to sing along. He also uses up tempo beats and yet easily switches his music up. I believe that if he counties to make music and grow as a musician he will also be considered one of the best in the game. Nav’s music is constantly blasting through my speakers and he is no doubt my favorite rapper.

Rapper of the Week #1

Rapper of the Week #1

Hello blog, this week I have decided to bring you guys a new series. I have started a rapper of the week series to keep all of you up to date with newest and freshest rapper who are trending at the moment. Let’s get started…

This weeks Rapper of the Week is…..

Lil Baby

I have chosen Lil Baby because I feel as though he is very underrated, and deserves more credit. He has mastered the art of mumble rap, as his music is laid back yet always gets you pumped up… perfect for those summer days. Wih his hit song My Dawg, all the way to his newly released song Never needed Help, I believe that Lil Baby is the perfect artist to feature for this first week. Although his music is a bit different, I encourage all of you guys to listen to his music and get a feel for a new style of rap.

Song of the week #3

Song of the Week #3

Once again I’m back with a song of the week. I really enjoy making this series and giving you guys the latest of the latest songs to listen too.

This week song

Boof Pack by Lil Mosey

Although this is only his second song, Lil Mosey is killing it right now. He is only 15 and making music on par wit the veterans in the game. On another mellow beat he has produced an another amazing song, and I have had it on repeat since its release.

Lil Boat II Release

Lil Boat II

Lil Yachty is finally back, as he dropped his newest release in over 6 months. After his album Tennage Emotions unexpectedly flopped, people began to say he was no longer a legit. However, Yachty was able to prove them wrong. Although I believe the album could have been better, this project is overall pretty good. Yachty has many famous features through the album and returned to his normal ‘bubblegum trap’ style of rapping. I believe this is the best thing for him and can see him continuing to rise from here.

Top three songs on Lil Boat II

3. 66 ft. TRIPPIE REDD

2. Self Made

1. She ready ft. PNB Rock

Song of the Week #2

Song of the Week #2

This week I’m back with another song of the week to help you guys listen to some new songs, as well as songs that I think are the best for the general rap listener.

This weeks song:

Pull Up by Lil Mosey

Lip mosey is brand new to hip hop, as this is first single he was able to really amount views on. In 2 months it has over 5 million plays. This was huge for him as he is only 15. The somg is very relaxing with a wavy beat. The simple yet catchy lines will have you bumping to his music. Although this is his first song, I believe he has the potential to make great music, on very different beats that other rappers can’t make good music too.

Song of the Week #1

Song of the Week Series

This week I will be starting my song of the week series. This is where I will pick a song i like in particular for that week, and let you guys get a head up on how it will sound. This way you guys will be able to hopefully listen to some new songs and get some new music ideas.

Song of the Week #1 – Fashion by Jay Critch ft. Rich the Kid

This song was originally released by a fairly unknown rapper, Jay Critch. However, this feature with very famous rapper Rich the Kid tripled his popularity. This song is very well done ,with a wonderful beat. The lyrics are very catchy and there is no doubt that you will be hooked on the chorus within minutes. The mellowness of the song is perfect for many audiences, especially people not into hardcore rap. Personally, I believe this will be a fan favorite and it is one of  my favorites of this year.

Best SoundCloud Rapper

The Best SoundCloud Rapper

As I was scrolling through SoundCloud, a daily part of my day, I came across an amazing rapper. Coming out of Rockledge, Florida is Lil Edge. He is very underground and underrated, averaging only about 20.1 thousand plays. There are three main reasons that I feel like he can become an elite rapper, all he is missing is the sound quality in exclusive studios.

#1 – Constant Flow, Edge never stops in any of his songs, changes flow easily and quickly. He shows this in many songs.

#2 – Clever lyrics, Lil Edge has arguably son of the best most clever rhyming skills I have ever heard. You never would guess any of his lines.

#3 – Diverse beats, Edge has the biblty to rap on many different styles of beats, hardcore and more melodic.

Go give him a listen on Soundcloud.
