Following the aftermath of Wednesday’s insurrection, major social media sites have decided to ban President Trump. Companies such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc. have decided to block Trump’s accounts, as they believe his comments pose a risk to the general public. While many social media companies have said that the block will remain until the end of the president’s term, Twitter has decided to permanently ban his account.

After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence,” Twitter said in a statement. The actions of these social media platforms has raised both relief and anger from both sides. Many view Trump’s posts as a threat to society after recent events, others believe that it goes against the first amendment and is being used by leftists to silence the right. Regardless, Trump can’t say anything.
