On January 31, Stephen King posted on twitter that he is quitting Facebook because of how much false information is spread on the platform and his lack of confidence in the companies ability to protect their users.

The 72-year-old author ,who has published more than 50 books, has since deleted his Facebook account and has been followed with an increase of scrutiny against Facebook for allowing politicians to run fake ads. King is still active on twitter, which announce back in October that they would stop taking political ads. King has been very open about his political views mainly about President Trump and now Facebook.
