The new Downton Abbey movie is set to release this Friday, September 20, 2019. This film comes after keeping fans waiting for almost four years as the tv finale released on December 25, 2015.

The new movie will mostly feature returning characters from the show along with a few new additions to the cast. As a continuation of the series, the movie will take place in 1927 in order to keep a consistent timeline with six seasons that led up the movie.

“I am very excited about the new Downton Abbey movie because I started watching the series this past year and I really enjoyed it,” senior Megan Connelly said. “I’m looking forward to seeing what happens to each character.”
