A shooting occurred at a STEM School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, on Tuesday. Two students, an 18-year-old and a juvenile, walked into classes with guns. Eight students over the age of fifteen were injured; two of the injured are in serious condition, two are in stable condition and one is in good condition. Three have been discharged. Senior Kendrick Castillo was killed when he lunged at the shooter, which gave his classmates time to hide. He is being remembered as a hero.

“Be selfless, that’s what my son was, and it got him killed, but he saved others…. I know that because of what he did, others are alive, and I thank God for that. I love him. And he is a hero and he always will be,” Kendrick’s dad, John Castillo,  said, according to CNN.
