Sunny Days of Cancun

After my summer swim season ends I have a full month to vacation to anywhere I want before school starts again. My family is known for being rather spontaneous with our trips. With my dad’s job allowing us to get airplane tickets quickly and with no trouble, it allows us to make fast decisions to go travel. So, in the summer of 2016 after my swim season ended my family booked 4 tickets to Cancun, Mexico. How hilarious and coincidental that my friend had the exact same plans.

She’s one of my best friends and we hung out constantly and talked about everything. Also, because she was on my summer swim team we ended up getting even closer since we would spend six days a week with each other. But, for some odd reason, we never talked about our vacation plans after the season was over.

So, when I got to the airport and saw her sitting at my gate I immediately got super confused and excited. The picture shown was actually a picture taken at that moment when I sat next to her to ask her what she was doing here.  She then tells me that she’s headed to Cancun during the same time I’m there. Then, while this whole conversation is happening my parents and sister are absolutely dying of laughter because of how coincidental this is. Right before we’re about to board we tell each other that we need to find each other once during the trip and say our goodbyes.

Flashforward three days and we’re meeting over at this little island called Isla Mujeres. We spend the whole entire day there together and it turns out to be the highlight of the trip. Hopefully, things like this happen again because it was one of the best coincidences that have happened to me.
