Reflecting back on your work and your experience is an important part of growing as an artist. Reflection requires you to consider your experience while creating, what you learned or gained from that experience, and what you could do in the future.
Be sure to post a photo of your artwork. If you have any process images of your artwork it would be helpful to post those as well.
Write a reflection regarding your artwork and make sure you answer the following questions in your response (you do not have to answer each individual question, just be sure you cover all of these core ideas in documenting your experience):
- What was your original intention in your work? What did you want your work to say or communicate? What was your overall idea?
- How does your work reflect or communicate your original intention or idea? If your idea changed along the way explain why and how that idea evolved in your creation process.
- Did you run into any issues (this could be with executing your idea, issues with media, time, etc…) while creating your artwork? How did this issue(s) impact your work? How did you resolve it? What did you learn while you worked through this issue?
- What areas are you most proud of in your work? What do you find that you did successfully?
- What areas do you think are your weakest or could use improvement? Elaborate on why you think so and if possible what you could do to make these changes.
- What did you gain or learn from making this artwork? What can you take away from this experience?
- What are some things you learned that will help you or you can use in future artworks?
