Project 8

Well this is the beginning of my new project. I have been wanting to do plaster wall reliefs for a while so this is my instillation of that. The sketchbook page goes over the original brainstorming and I decided to stick with the girl who better represented tragedy. I am sculpting her on wood where I will add subtle trees in the background and foreground . Also I might make the cloth from real cloth and not just plaster. What do you think?

This is a photo I took while searching for some good ones for photography. It didn’t associate to the assignment , but it’s one of my favorites of recent. So here is my challenge to you:

– In your artwork, depict yourself in two ways, both as a  chess piece (can be a characterization) . One, as a chess piece that you feel truly represents you right now. And the other, you choose a piece that shows who you want to be.

  1. This represents the project where the girl is running outside of a book (escaping fate). Here this is the beginning stages of her and the horse, hopefully they will get to be painted. Any recommendations on the girls clothing ? It’s set in more in the olden days with knights and so forth and she is also poor, raised in the wild.

Concept Art – Desert Storm Series

This is a little something I did outside of class. I really enjoyed coming up with this character and story base. This is not the entire photo but the sketch is still incomplete and very hard to see. Over all its set in a steampunk like world in the desert. from below someone shoots at her from a sandmobile (one that I created myself) with others trailing behind in pursuit , a pyramid in the horizon. In the end I wanted to express a story in a dynamic manner and practice dynamic postures without reference.

Progress Check- Artwork 7

So I tried doing something a tad bit different than what I do for my sketchbooks. And honestly I like how the text overlays the background and all the other random stuff. Oh and this is not the finished product, I still have some images to glue in 🙂

Escaping Books and Fate

Here I have created a story, one that I plan to bring to life in my sculpture. In summary, it’s about a girl who escapes her own book and her own fate. The scene depicts the moment she does, people chasing after her right on her heels as she escapes with her wild friends.
