Everything stopped, and the silence was deafening. He was lost in the old museum, surrounded by priceless artifacts and disintegrating skeletons. There wasn’t a single sound, not even the chirping of the midnight crickets from the open window.
He knew she was there, waiting for him to creep out from behind the stone pillar. He didn’t want to lose, to disappear, but that seemed to be the only option.
“You can do this. It won’t hurt. You know that.” he told himself, but he wasn’t sure he actually believed it. Sweat dripped from his face as he stepped out anyway.
I like your take on the “Everything stopped, and” I was going for a more non-fiction approach, but this is an interesting twist! I would very much like to see this turned into a short horror story. Got my attention for sure!
