100 Word Challenge 3/5

Hey Everyone! This is my 100 word challenge post for this week. We had to incorporate the words balloon, never, frightening, brown, and kicked. I hope that you like it.

Walking home from school, I stepped in a big, brown, muddy puddle. I was so mad because I was wearing new shoes, and I had told my mom that I would never get them dirty. I ran home as fast as I could and kicked open the door to the bathroom, hoping I could get them clean. I came out of the bathroom, and my family screamed, “Happy Birthday”. It was frightening how loud they were. My brother handed me a balloon while we laughed about how I didnt even notice them because I was so worried about my shoes.

Thank you so much for reading this! Fun fact this is actually based on  a true story where we threw a surprise birthday party for my mom (pre-covid), and there were at least 30 people that she ran past without noticing because she had to go to the bathroom. Feel free to leave a comment saying what one word out of the five you would not want to use in a story. Also, remember to leave a link to your blog so that I can stop by. -Bella

  1. Bella,

This 100WC is fun to read on its own, but the background provided at the bottom, about how this story is based on your mom’s race to the restroom, makes it absolutely charming. I can completely relate; I’ve missed a huge bouquet of anniversary flowers as I made a similar run. HA HA

I spent longer than I expected on your blog because I got distracted reading about how rotting oranges are being converted into electricity. In Spain, orange peels leftover from juicing are taken to a warehouse to rot and ferment. The methane they produce in the process is captured and converted into electricity. Hey California and Florida, are you reading? 🙂

Looking forward to your next post –

    1. Mrs. Rombach,

I am so happy that you liked my post. That is so cool about oranges that sounds like something that could help make the world a better place one step at a time.

      Thank you so much!
      -Bella
