100 Word Challenge 02/24

Hey Everyone! This is my 100 word blogging challenge for this week. This time we had to use the phrase “…..but where did it go?” she shouted….. I hope you like it.

My friend and I were on a hike and it was getting dark so we decided to go home but we got lost. Our phones were dead so we couldn’t contact anyone. Something ran by her legs and she screamed. She was bleeding, whatever it was had cut her. I saw it and went to get a closer look at it. “It’s over here and it’s growling at me” I yelled. “But where did it go?” she shouted. I looked over and it wasn’t there. We couldn’t see it but we knew it was still there waiting to attack us.

Thank you so much for reading this. Feel free to leave a comment saying what the theme of your story would be if you had to use this phrase. Don’t forget to leave a link to your blog as well so that I can stop by. -Bella

  1. Hi Bella,

The ominous black and white photo you picked for your spine-tingling tale is the perfect visual accompaniment. Hiking at night can raise the hairs on your neck, that’s for certain. One time, my husband, son Sean, and I were hiking at Balls Bluff park, and my husband’s phone died, so we lost our GPS directions. We got a bit turned around and lost our way. Thankfully, we had a headlamp and used it to find out way back to the trailhead. Having a headlamp on, all of the tiny insect eyes shined back at us, and it felt like all the woodland creatures were spying on us. Your story reminded me of our unsettling hike in the woods!

    Keep on writing!

    1. Mrs. Rombach,

Wow that sounds super creepy I have never actually hiked at night before. It seems cool but also very unsettling at the same time. I am glad I was able to remind you of such a cool memory.

      Thank you!

  2. Hi Bella!
This story was so creepy and I hope I never have to face anything like the girls in the story did, yikes! It is terrifying what can be lurking in the dark. If I had to write a 100 Word Challenge with the same phrase, I would probably write about something paranormal. I love talking about ghosts or spirits because they are just so interesting. Good job on your challenge, this was a really cool story to read!

    1. Hi Kaylee,

I am so happy that you liked my story. Yea, can you imagine being in the woods, lost at night and something like that happens, that would be crazy. I totally agree this prompt goes very well with a dark and mysterious setting. Again, thank you so much!
