Sophomore Rhea Ganesan has always loved to make jewelry, but only recently created a business for it.

“I have been making jewelry since 5th grade, and as I’ve grown since then, my capabilities and the quality of what I produce has grown as well,” Ganesan said. “As I have had this interest in jewelry making for so long, it was naturally my first choice for the subject of my business.”

During black friday, Ganesan made a collection of earrings that she sold. Screenshot taken by Pratha Ravani.

She had decided to open a business after a friend had suggested it. Ganesan started her business, called Accessorhea’s, in October 2020, and it has grown since then.

“I always had a love for art and creating pieces, so when my friend suggested that I start my own business [I decided to try] it out,” Ganesan said. “The positive feedback I received was overwhelmingly gratifying which pushed me to continue.”

Ganesan makes all her jewelry by hand. She’s made many different pieces, including earrings, rings and necklaces.

“I take inspiration for my jewelry from current trends and the interests of my followers,” Ganesan said. “[I also have] asked my followers what they would like to see featured in the [next] drop, which allows me to not only interact with my customers but also take input. I [also] do take custom orders, given that the pricing is dependent upon the complexity of the product and design.”

Ganesan is planning on furthering her business by expanding her products. She plans on selling clothes and to collaborate with a friend who also owns a business in the future.
