Many students have used their additional time during the coronavirus quarantine pursuing creative projects, but one student in particular, senior Bella Pam, has been busy writing, singing, and producing original music over the quarantine. She released her second single “Something I’m Feeling” earlier this year as well as covers of songs and other music on various platforms.
During the summer before her sophomore year, Pam witnessed the performances of some local artists. It was after those performances Pam started writing music. She cites one artist in particular, Danny Libibe, as her main motivation in beginning to make music.
Pam penned “Something I’m Feeling” during quarantine by writing down all her feelings in the notes section of her phone and turning those into lyrics that she thought flowed well before adding in guitar chords. To her, a big part of music is the personality of it, so it’s important that songs she writes sound like her.
She writes songs about her “life experiences, because it’s so you,” said Pam. At the same time, she hopes that people can relate to her music as she does.
Pam hopes to continue to put out music and grow a following.
“I’d really like to try to see if I could be a big star, to chase my dream, to perform in front of people, and do everything that a performer would dream of doing,” Pam said.
Pam’s music can be found on all music streaming platforms. Follow her on Instagram @bellapamm to keep up with her musical endeavors.
