Varsity Lax season kicks off

Coming back from a successful season last year, Freedom boys varsity lacrosse is hoping to finish this season on an even higher note. Losing 14 seniors isn’t an easy feat to over come, but the team makes up for it in having two Division 1 defense men on their roster: Jack Posey (Penn State) and Zach Myers (Marquette).

Last week, Freedom finished out the preseason with a 2-1 wins over Centerville and Herndon, and just one loss to 4A State Runner up Dominion. In the two wins, the offense showed definite promise for the upcoming season after putting up a hand full of goals. The defense in all three games was stellar, and the team only gave up one goal against Herndon, wining the game 12-1.

After the scrimmages, Freedom wasted no time in practices. They worked on fixing mistakes made throughout the games, and strategized to prepare for their first competitor of the season.
