On Feb. 12, students on Freedom’s Unified Basketball team got together to recap a fantastic season at their second annual Unified Sports Banquet and first annual Unified Basketball banquet.
The night was full of videos reviewing the season and lots of friends and family celebrating the hard work of Freedom’s athletes and partner athletes.
The Unified team looks forward to their upcoming season of Unified Track and hopes to do well in the regional meet in May, where up to 20 schools from the Northern Virginia area will meet to compete in a Special Olympics Track season. They hope that Freedom students will come and support them at their upcoming meets.

- Luis “Luigi” Aguirre lettered in athletics during his time on the Unified Basketball team.

- Seniors Sam Ramadan, Daniel Zimmerman and Nicole Castelblanco talk about the importance of Unified Sports. This year marks the second year of serving as leaders for the team for Castelblanco and Zimmerman and is Ramadan’s first.
- Ms. Koscinski, Ms. Burch, Ms. Chaudhry and Ms. Arndt celebrate the end of the Unified Basketball season.
