We are almost at the end of the regular season of spring track, with only two meets left – all this week. We have a home meet here at Dominion today, the ninth of May (make it out to see it!), and one more meet on Friday at Millbrook high school. After the Last Chance Invitational at Millbrook, we have conference, regionals, then states. The girls 4X800 has made regionals and we are going to try and qualify for states this Friday, having to get the time of 9:58. This FAST time means all four runners in the relay have to run under 2:30 for their leg of the 800. To put the time in perspective, Dominion’s HS record for the 4X800 is a 10:05. The boys relay qualified for states last Saturday at the Nike Spring Invitational at South Lakes HS, where they also won the entire meet. I am trying to qualify for regionals in the 800 today, which means I have to run a 2:27. Wish our team luck!
