Earlier this week, I was doing homework and randomly shuffling songs on Youtube and I came across a song I hadn’t heard before. The song is “Close Your Eyes” by Michael Buble. He is singing about the people that make life better, when times are hard and they are always there for you. Michael Buble’s voice in general is already fantastic but this song pushes his voice to some of its impressive abilities. If you are looking for a new song to listen to, I would recommend this one. The Greatest Showman is a movie that has been out since December twentieth. The movie was overall fantastic with a good story based on the life of P.T. Barnum. The choreography was well done and the story flowed really well and it was great to see the Wolverine dance around and sing on the big screen. The element that really stood out about this film was the music. If someone asked you to choose the worst song in the movie, you would honestly have a hard time. Every song was written very well and the music was beautiful and catchy. They were written by the two very talented men Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. The duo are very dynamic when working together and their work really shows how hard they worked on this. I recommend seeing the movie for yourself if you haven’t already. It is something you might not want to miss!
Drake’s song God’s Plan was an instant hit as soon as it dropped. The catchy song along with a joyous meaning affected people everywhere. The thing that was most special about it was the music video. Drake decided to take the entire budget for the music video and give it all away to people who deserved it or needed it more. The video is very inspiring and it is worth your time to watch. Ed Sheeran released the song perfect with his Divide album but decided to release it again as a single. Perfect has become one of his most successful songs ever and has been in the top charts in the ITunes store ever since it came out. He wrote the song for his girlfriend who is now his fiance. Ed Sheeran an impressive songwriter and performer and this song just emphasises it. He has sold out stadium shows where he does concerts with literally just him and a guitar. The song Perfect was recently released also as a duet with Beyonce and was just as good as the original version, if not better. All of Ed Sheeran’s songs feel like they have meaning behind them and personal connections or stories but this one seems like it was a little extra special. How is your singing voice? Do you think you are good? WELL THAT IS TOO BAD because the group Pentatonix will make you look like you aren’t. Life isn’t fair, cry me a river, build me a bridge, and get over it. You have probably heard of them before but Pentatonix comes out with fantastic covers of songs every year. For fantastic songs, you need fantastic vocals, which this group of 5 definitely has. With vocal ranges from the highest of high to the lowest of low these singers have powerful voices that will metaphorically knock your socks off, even if you are wearing metaphorical shoes! They are probably best known for their Christmas songs which are top of the line. I would highly recommend listening to some of their music.
