Dystopia and 10th Graders

 In my 22nd year of teaching, I decided to take several risks – Google classroom; year-long, real-world research project; blogging, and the study of Dystopian Literature. At first the relevance of this literature to our present day reality was exciting. Until – the reality of exposing students almost daily to the reality of these cautionary tales might add to their sense of hopelessness.  Every assignment is now a conundrum. As I blog with my students this year, I plan on sharing my decisions and the tension each entails, as well as the results of our work. #dystopia, #dystopianliterature, #teacher dilemmas
