What a fun book!  Maya is stuck at the bottom of the social ladder in high school and decides to try a social experiment using Betty Cornell’s Teenage Popularity Guide from the 1950’s to move up the ladder and become popular.  Each chapter in the book focuses on different parts of the guide and includes lessons in how to dress, hairstyles, sitting at different tables during lunch, etc.  Maya tries it all, no matter how embarrassing it maybe.  In the end she realizes that being popular is not about all that but is is about…………….well you are going to have to read the book to find out.

I found this book to be an inspirational read that made me laugh out loud and also cry.
