Craig Gilner is an ambitious teenager that wants to get into the best high school, the best college, and get the best job.  He believes he is on the right when he gets into Manhattan’s Executive Pre-Professional High School, however the pressures of the academics, extra curricular activities, girls, friends, etc become too much for him to handle.  Craig decides to take his own life, but before he does he reaches out to the Suicide Hotline.  He checks himself into the hospital and is placed on the mental health adult floor.  Through the residents he meets there, he finds a reason to live and discovers more about himself and his illness.  Unfortunately, Ned Vizzini took his own life in December 2013.

I recommend this book as it gives a true understanding of depression, anxiety, and suicide with humor.
