What a heartwrenching book!! This is the story of David Pelzer, one of the most abused children in California’s history.   This book is the first in a trilogy and in it David explains his life as a young boy growing up in a home in the 70’s with an alcoholic mother who subjects him to horrific abuse.  David does his best to survive as he dreams about living in a happy home one day.  This book will make you think, feel. and probably cry.  It was a hard one to put down and I had to know how David’s story ended.
