Hello there, my name is Anna Claire! Welcome to my blog where you can find recipes, reviews, and more! Here are some facts about me so you can get to know me better…
1. I’m 13 years old and in the 8th grade. I go to school in Northern Virginia and love writing, reading, and learning about new things. I especially love English, History, Communications, and Spanish.
2. I was born in “The Palmetto State”. All of my extended family lives there and I love visiting. I enjoy going to Myrtle Beach during the summer, going to Charleston, and visiting where my family lives in Chesterfield, SC around the holidays.
3. I have a brother named Bishop. Bishop is in the 5th grade and loves to watch The Office, Marvel movies, play with his action figures, and draw. He has definitely watched Spider-Man over 50 times. Of course little brothers can get annoying at times, but in the end he’s the sweetest, kindest, and definitely the funniest brother you could have.
4. I’m a Cadette in Girl Scouts. I joined my troop when I became a Daisy (the first ranking in Girl Scouts), and I’ve been with them from the start! I love going camping with them, having fun during our monthly meetings, and going on trips. This summer we went to Savannah, GA, the place where Girl Scouts was founded. I have earned my Bronze Award and am working on my Silver Award soon.
5. I love playing basketball and running. I play on a basketball league during the winter. My position is center, since I’m always the tallest on my team. Whenever it’s nice outside I enjoy running, but it can be pretty miserable and tiring when the sun is beaming down. In high school I’m thinking about running Cross Country or Track!
6. I’ve never had a pet before, besides a fish. I had a beta fish when I was in 1st grade named Princess Roxy, I know what a good name. My brother and I have always wanted a dog and hopefully soon we can get one! I like smaller dogs like Corgis and Malteses, my brother on the other hand likes bigger dogs such as Golden Retrievers and German Shepherds. I have a bad allergy to dogs and cats, so if my family does decide to have a pet, it’ll have to be hypoallergenic.
7. I enjoy cooking and baking. I love watching Food Network and getting ideas from the cooking shows. Cooking is a way for me to be creative. Of course my loved ones, along with me, love to eat the food I make! My favorite things to make are cookies and brownies.
8. I love traveling and visiting new places. One of my favorite places I’ve ever been is New York City. I went last Christmas and it was so beautiful, especially Rockefeller Center and it’s big Christmas tree. I think that traveling makes you experience the differences in culture all around the world. I hope that someday I can travel to Greece, Ireland, Bali, and Australia.
9. I play the piano and know how to read music. Once a week I have piano practice after school. I have played the piano since I was around 7 years old and I really like it. It makes me relax and de-stress from any school work or test I’m worried about. I love learning and playing new popular songs along with hymns and older songs.
10. I have lived in Nairobi, Kenya. After I was born in South Carolina and turned 6 weeks old, I lived in Nairobi for 6 months! My Dad works for the State Department and sometimes travels for work. Everyone asks me if I remember living in Africa and sadly I don’t… I was just a baby!

Hi Anna Claire,
I enjoyed reading all about your family and your interests outside of school. I’m impressed that you’ve stayed both with Girl Scouts and piano. What types of music do you like to play–which artists or songs?
Stop by our class blog sometime! Here’s the URL: http://blogs.lcps.org/rombachravenrockstars/ Sometime soon, we’ll be commenting on each other’s blogs!
Cheers,
Mrs. Rombach
Mrs. Rombach,
I’m so glad that you like my blog! I like to play all types of music, but my favorite is playing popular music. Over the years I’ve played Shallow from A Star Is Born by Lady Gaga and Piano Man by Billy Joel at one of my recitals. Of course during Christmas time I love playing Christmas music! The type of music I play really depends on what my lessons are like and if I have recitals coming up.
Thank you for looking at my first post, I’ll make sure to take a look at yours too!
Your Student,
Anna Claire

Hi Anna Claire, this is Abby from communications I’ve been to myrtle beach before and I really like it. I also like dogs but my sister has allergies, so we have a portuguese water dog (hypoallergenic) named ze. Maybe your family could get one because it is medium sized (although Ze is a bit chunky).
Hey Abby!
That’s so cool that you have visited Myrtle Beach before too and have a Portuguese water dog! I’ll definitely tell my family about how they’re hypoallergenic, thanks for telling me.
Thanks so much for looking at my blog and commenting. Hope you have a good rest of your day, happy blogging!

Heyo Anna Claire!
Princess Roxy is by far the best fish name I’ve heard, my first grade beta fish was named Blue. I know, creative, right? My fish was blue so I named it Blue.
An amazing place you should aim to visit one day is New Zealand, all of the views are just so beautiful. It’s mainly a place to appreciate the nature, so if you’re a nature lover, New Zealand is perfect. My favorite place I went to in New Zealand was this campsite called Lake Wanaka. It’s breathtakingly beautiful there and the weather was perfect.

Hi Melia,
Thank you, I’m so glad you like the name Princess Roxy! I don’t know what the reasoning was behind naming my fish that, but at the time I thought it was a rad name. I definitely need to add New Zealand to my bucket list/travel list. From looking at pictures it looks absolutely gorgeous!!
Thanks so much for looking at my blog and commenting! I appreciate it greatly! Have a great rest of your day.
