Earlier this week a cyber attack hit the colonial pipeline. This is a line that distributes gas to 13 states in the southeast US. The cyber attackers location  is unknown, but what we do know is that they are called “Darkside”, and their goal is money. Some think that they could be based in Russia, but nothing has been proven thus far. Officials have said the problem should be solved later this week; however, it isn’t looking to good. Not because of the hackers, but because of panic buyers. When citizens heard that gas might run out they started panic buying. This sent gas prices through the roof and gas supplies plummeted. There are new details emerging daily about this situation, but hopefully it will be resolved soon and people will stop panic buying.
