74 Years Since Jackie Robinson Played in the MLB

74 years ago today, Jackie Robinson became the first African-American player in Major League Baseball. Robinson was the first to break the ‘color barrier’ in American sports when he started playing for the Brooklyn Dodgers.

The all-star and hall of “famer”, Robinson paved the way for US professional sports to be integrated. The celebration of Jackie Robinson is in light of the Brooklyn Dodgers’ statement condoning anti-Asian sentiment in the league and against Asian-American xenophobia.
