Netflix’s new show “Ginny & Georgia” has recently come under fire for a sexist joke over Taylor Swift’s dating life. In a scene a character states “What do you care? You go through men faster than Taylor Swift”. Swifties, fans of Taylor Swift, have brought to attention the double standard there is for dating, and how women seem to be judged a lot more for having dated many people, while men don’t face criticism at all. Taylor Swift has responded to this with a tweet stating “Hey Ginny & Georgia, 2010 called and it wants its lazy, deeply sexist joke back”. Another Netflix show, Degrassi: Next Class, has also made a similar joke, “Taylor Swift made an entire career off of her exes”. Netflix and Ginny and Georgia have not responded to the criticism yet.
