French President Emmanuel Macron tested positive for COVID-19 following meetings with EU heads of government. Macron had discussed climate change at the European Union’s 27 leaders, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, late last week. The leaders had followed COVID-19 protocols, such as wearing a mask.
The diagnosis has triggered an immense tracing effort among European leaders and Macron will be canceling his planned trip to Lebanon to remain in self quarantine.
