Over the course of the week, the BBWAA (Baseball Writers of America Association) released the results for the major baseball awards. On Monday, the Rookie of the Year awards were the first ones announced. This award is given to the best Rookie in each league. For the American League, Mariners’ Outfielder Kyle Lewis won. In the National League, Brewers’ Relief Pitcher Devin Williams won. On Tuesday, the Manager of the Year awards were announced. This award is given to the best Manager in each league. For the American League, Rays Manager Kevin Cash won the award. In the National League, Marlins Manager Don Mattingly won the award. Wednesday was the day the Cy Young Awards were announced. This award is given to the best pitcher in each league. For the American League, Shane Bieber won the award unanimously. In the National League, Trevor Bauer won the award. The final award, the MVP, was announced on Thursday. The MVP (Most Valuable Player) is given to the best player in each league. For the American League, First Baseman Jose Abreu won the award. In the National League, First Baseman Freddie Freeman won the award.
