Former Officer Derek Chauvin Released on $1M Bond

Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was released on a one million dollar bond this Wednesday, October 7th. Chauvin is charged for the murder of George Floyd, which occured on May 25 earlier this year. The case gained international attention after the encounter that left Floyd dead was recorded and posted online.

Chauvin is one of four former officers charged in the case. The other three officers have been charged with aiding and abetting murder. Chauvin is on conditional release and is expected to go to court in March of next year.
