Antibiotic resistant bacteria kills thousands of people every year, however scientists are taking a different approach to help combat these deadly germs. Researchers at Vanderbilt University have come up with a possible solution that seems a bit ironic, dirt. Superbugs are one of the most common antibiotic resistant infections that kill about 35,000 people every year, however the answer to breaking down these infections can actually be found in soil. Certain soils have microbes that break down the bacteria. Hopefully more progress comes from this research and dirt can be used to save thousands of lives.
