Confederate Statues in Fairfax To Be Taken Down

The Board of Supervisors in Fairfax County voted 9-1 to take down three confederate monuments claiming that they don’t reflect their values on diversity. One of the monuments included sits in the spot where Captain John Marr was killed during the Battle of Fairfax Courthouse back in 1861. This comes after the massive Black Lives Matter Movement taking over the US since May 25th. The Movement calls for equality between people, regardless of race.
